Club de ConversacionWe are delighted to announce that we’re collaborating with Club de Conversación Marbella to introduce Spanish language classes at El Banco.

These classes will be relaxed and friendly, focussing on conversation and spoken Spanish, but taught by qualified teachers. We believe this will offer the perfect combination of practice and teaching and is a great way to get to know people too. As all our staff are Spanish speaking, we will then be delighted to help you practice any time you come in!

To introduce the classes we will be running a free 1 hour taster session on Monday 7th October at 12.00-13.00 where anyone who would like to practice Spanish in a relaxed and friendly environment, can try it out and see what they think.

Numbers are limited to a maximum of 20 people, so please RSVP to Laura in the restaurant or email Sabrina info@ccmarbella.com to reserve your place.

El Banco Restaurant Opens in Aloha Pueblo

Posted on

aperturaOn the 11th of July a new restaurant is opening in Aloha Pueblo, giving a new lease of life to the urbanization’s old bank and preparing delicious International Fusion cuisine in a relaxed environment. The restaurant is being launched by Gustavo Kiguelmam and Laura de Luca, the husband and wife team behind the legendary La Red restaurant on Marbella’s beachfront.

Chef Giacomo Muzio is bringing his culinary skills to this quirky locale, which has given the old bank a fresh look whilst keeping a few original features such as the safes, cleverly repurposed into wine racks. The cosy restaurant has comfortable sofas, as well as a dining area and spacious terrace. The food is defined as “International, fusion cuisine, prepared fresh and made with love” and the menu includes homemade pasta and puddings, ceviche, healthy salads and thanks to the Argentinean owners – top quality meat.

“After building up La Red for the last 10 years, we wanted to offer our clients something different, away from the beach, with great fusion food for a new community.”, commented Laura, “We will be open all day for breakfast, coffee and cake, lunch, snacks, dinner and drinks and everything in between and provide a comfortable, relaxed yet stylish place to hang out and catch up with friends. Given the current financial climate and attitude to the banking industry, turning a bank into a restaurant seemed the perfect cause for celebration – we’re hoping that with our bank we will be investing in good food and great times.”

There will be an opening party on Thursday 11th July from 7pm-9pm with a drinks reception and a chance to sample a selection of dishes from their menu. Table bookings are also being taken for the first dinner service from 9pm.
